Texas law requires all judges and judicial officers to receive specialized training on the dynamics of family violence. This workshop fulfills the one-hour statutory requirement under Sec. 22.110(d)(13) and is delivered as an asynchronous, self-paced learning module, allowing judges to complete the requirement at a time and pace that fits their judicial schedules.
This training equips judges with a clear understanding of how family violence manifests, how coercive control shapes victim behavior, and how judicial actions directly influence survivor safety, offender accountability, and long-term outcomes. Through expert interviews, real-world case scenarios, and trauma-informed analysis, the training provides practical tools judges can apply immediately on the bench.
