Course Description
In this training, learn about two forms of short-term protection for survivors of violence: a Magistrate’s Order for Emergency Protection (commonly known as Emergency Protective Order or EPO) and a Temporary Ex-Parte Protective Order. The presentation provides details on the legal standards that must be met and circumstances under which each order can be obtained, as well as the protections afforded by the orders. Austin Police Department's Emergency Protective Order Model will also be discussed
